Excuse our late arrival to the party, but some insane riding went down in Japan during the Olympic window. Jess Kimura’s brainchild, The Uninvited, went out to Japan for a qualifier that showed why not only Japan dominated at the Winter Games in snowboarding, but why we should be watching every rider that learned how to strap in on the Land of the Rising Sun. These women went off and you will be seeing their names around for a long time to come.
The Uninvited Japan Open 2026 Presented by YETI brought together Japan’s rising generation of women snowboarders at Nekoma Mountain for a powerful showcase of progression, style, and community. Founded by Jess Kimura, The Uninvited continues to create space and opportunity for women in snowboarding — and Japan delivered. Featuring: Miyu Oishi, Haruna Ishihara, Sara Takagi, Anju Matsuoka, Yuri Takazawa, Himari Takamori, Mirei Terauchi, Shizuku Hanada, Tomoyo Oishi, Juri Nakayama, Yura Murase, Midori Oshima, Rina Katayama, and Hinano Sakamoto.
