This past Thursday, April 14, we celebrated the life of Josh Malay at Beaver Creek Resort for the 7th annual Malay Day. For those of us who knew Josh, he was one of our heroes. Since passing in 2004 while on a snowboard trip in Spain, he has become legendary. His childlike spirit, raw talent and creativity has inspired us all again and again each and every day.

This past Malay Day was no exception. Family and friends showed up from all corners of the States to represent the love and respect we all have for Josh. The local snowboarders (rdtm) took charge of the hill early in morning and put on quite a show.

With the help of Reed Silberman at Inkmonstr, some of Josh's drawings were reproduced into fine prints. Kurt Olesik, Sean and Pat Malay held a silent auction of these pieces as well as some of Josh's sculptures at the awards party to benefit Todd Franzen in his fight against cancer.

Malay day helped raise over a $1,000 for Todd. It was a great day, a great party and hopefully we made Josh proud. Thank you to all the sponsors: Beaver Creek, Ninja Jay Isaacs and the Beaver Creek park crew for yet again another fun Malay Day. See you next year!
