[Gallery] Opening Day at Whistler Blackcomb

Words & photos by Nic Alegre

It’s easy for a foreigner to have a love affair with Whistler Blackcomb.  As an American photographer, the lure of the place is constant and each winter I try to find ways to make my presence here more permanent.  It’s deep, it’s vibrant, the party scene is non-stop and it produces some of the most committed, talented and knowledgable big mountain riders in the world. Opening 10 days earlier than scheduled, myself and a few local shreds set out to sample the goods.

Riders: Antoine Malingrey, Glenn Goodwin & Nick “Yukon” Herdes
