Montreal, Canada (June 7, 2012)– O’Neill, the original surf, snow and youth lifestyle brand for 60 years, is happy to announce the return of the “O’Neill Experience,” an exclusive behind-the-scenes video and photo series featuring some of the best snow athletes in the world, both on and off the mountain. Located at www.oneillexperience.com, this Summer’s ‘Experience’ will follow the entire O’Neill Snow team as they prep for the upcoming season, while interacting with one another and Camp of Champions attendees in Whistler, British Columbia. The O’Neill Experience will also preview the newest O’Neill Snow apparel for 2012-13, including styles from the O’Riginals Collection, a limited edition, retro-inspired capsule commemorating the brand’s 60th anniversary.
Starting July 1st from Whistler Village, the O’Neill Experience stars Winter X Games medalists Seb Toots and David Wise, snowboard fan favorite Celia Miller and newcomer Iris Lazz, backcountry snowboarding legend Jeremy Jones and more. Daily footage will post on www.oneillexperience.com throughout the week, with more rare photos and video clips promoted on O’Neill Snow’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Content will include daily videos and photos of their experiences – from riding and performing tricks, to swapping sports, finding new hobbies and adventures in surrounding areas, testing the latest O’Neill apparel, and much more.
Earlier this year, the original “O’Neill Experience” followed Seb Toots and other O’Neill team members at the 2012 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado, capturing David Wise’s gold-medal performance in Skiing SuperPipe and Toots getting a break for a day of dog sledding with his family. The interactive campaign was a huge success, garnering more than 103,000 page views and more than 90,000 related video views to date.
"There was such an overwhelming response to the first O’Neill Experience during Winter X, and we all agreed that Whistler was a perfect next spot to showcase more of our team riders and continue O’Neill’s yearlong 60th anniversary celebration,” said O’Neill Snow’s Juliet Korver. “It’s always a great time when our team riders come together, so we want to continue sharing those athlete personalities with our fans, and give them an all-access view of what it’s like to be part of the O’Neill Snow team.”
The O’Neill Experience content will also incorporate the best from Camp of Champions, a world-class Summer snow camp that offers young riders the opportunity to progress their skills with instructors and pro athletes. During O’Neill’s week with Camp of Champions, team riders will provide instruction, trade tricks and share stories with campers in and around the snow park. Additionally, O’Neill will host a special night for campers, which will include a never-before-seen screening of Jeremy Jones’ upcoming “Further” snowboard adventure film, new athlete videos, previews of upcoming promotional campaigns and a glimpse at the future of O’Neill Snow gear.
“The first O’Neill Experience in Aspen was cool because fans were able to see another side of my life off the mountain, hanging out with family and friends and enjoying the moment,” said Seb Toots. “In Whistler, our whole team will be together, so it will be really fun for our fans to see what we’re all like. I’m excited to hang out with the camp kids, too!”
