Spy unveils The Yonkers, a ’50s-inspired design as part of new collection

Inspired by the classic looks of the ‘50s and ‘60s, music, Golden State roots and a fondness for the city, Spy Optics has created the Yonkers: a masculine, flat-top-designed frame as part of their new limited edition Crosstown Collection.

Constructed from handmade acetate, The Yonkers has a durable frame that simply feels good on your face. Adorning the sides of the frame is a metal Spy logo and accented detailing that mix perfectly with any of the 5 color ways: 3-ply Black, 1956 Tort, Matte Black, Cuban Smoke Tort (shown above) and Army Tort.

When it comes to optics you’ll be stoked on the CR39 lens that provides a rich gradient color tinting that is hard-coated to resist scratching. Spy also added an anti-reflective inner lens coating for crystal clear vision.

Lastly, Spy created a custom case to add to the allure of the entire Crosstown Collection. A simple, well-designed cover just for the lenses, the case sports the Spy Crossstown Collection logo on the front with a button fastener to keep your shades locked in.

Because they are a limited release, it takes more than a mouse click to get your hands on a pair of these sunglasses. That’s what we dig about the new Crosstown Collection: you have to get off your ass and head to one of the 150 core shops and boutiques to find them.
The Yonkers go for $119.95, a steal for such a great pair of shades you can wear in pretty much any situation.
