Gerry Lopez Big Wave Challenge

We start the season and end the season here at Mt. Bachelor and I don’t think anyone has a problem with that. The 2015 Gerry Lopez Big Wave Challenge was one not to miss nor did it disappoint. The event as a whole was pure mayhem from inventive board shapes and a technical course to power turns and high speeds to big airs and wreckage. The Drink Water crew even made it out while on their “Mediocre Madness” tour and definitely played a big part in adding to the fun as well as the Gentemstick team traveling all the way from Japan. So next year when you think you can’t make moves, remember that there are people flying from across the world to be here and there’s a reason for it. I asked Gerry Lopez to describe the event in three words and it’s pretty easy to figure out; “Surf the Snow” because that’s what you get here and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
