There are many snowboarders that are able to ride whatever terrain lay underfoot, but few could do it with power and style like David Benedek. As one the founders of Robot Food, German-born Benedek was a dominant force in snowboarding during the 2000s not just in terms of video parts, but as a director in 2005’s 91 Words for Snow, back-to-back Snowboarder Magazine Rider of the Year and Video Part of the Year awards (2003,2004), contest wins and most recently one of the most comprehensive looks into snowboarding culture, the book Current State: Snowboarding. Both on and off the snow, David Benedek is one of snowboarding’s most influential figures and his impact will reverberate for the many years to come.
