Performance Review
First Impression. This board is awesome straight away. It’s stiff underfoot, providing a powerful platform, yet it remains forgiving if you make a mistake while charging. The signature Never Summer dampness is immediately apparent, cutting through everything in its path.

Edge Hold. The edge tech on this board handles steep, firm snow with ease with zero chatter. It’s an all-mountain twin that doesn’t just survive on ice and hardpack—it dominates them.
Edge Transition. Transitions are fluid and consistent. The board bounces you in and out of low-angle carves with a rhythmic feel. Even with a one-inch setback, the board maintains its twin-like agility, making it easy to pivot and shift edges in tight spots or when approaching park features.
Drive // Pop. The Proto 3 blows through heavy chop effortlessly while still providing a nice bounce out of quick turns. It’s not an aggressive launchpad, but it has a refined, damp power that keeps the ride feeling sophisticated and controlled.
Nimbleness & Predictability. It is an all-mountain board by definition but spins nicely on and off rails and feeling perfectly balanced in the air.
Stability at Speed. This board handles choppy groomers effortlessly. The dampness kills unwanted vibration and rarely feels sketchy though I wish the nose was a touch stiffer for pushing through deeper snow.
Fun Factor. Whether you are sending the mini-pipe or charging the big jump line in Main Park, the fun factor is through the roof. It’s a true all-terrain vehicle that makes every aspect of the mountain—from ice to powder—an absolute blast.
The Deep Dive
Overall Impression The Proto Type 3 is the absolute perfect hybrid of camber, flex, and dampness. It is a confidence-inspiring board that handles every condition the mountain throws at you.
Who is this board for? The true all-mountain rider who wants one board to handle park, groomers, powder, steeps, and ice. It’s perfect for the rider who wants a damp, forgiving ride that can still charge with the best of them.
