For the second year in a row, the Rome Muse has made it into the Platinum Picks, and deservedly so as this snowboard seriously just goes. The proof is in the packed powder: When we tapped Rude Girls Shop in Banff to test out a selection of snowboards in the wintery early April conditions at Sunshine Village, the Muse stood out, a favorite of everyone that stepped onto it. This is because the 1 Derby Lane-designed board is at once energetic and lively, and a precision machine. It combines ample pop with a quick-turning sensibility—thanks to the Fusion Camber (traditional between the bindings and reverse out to the nose and tail) and Bamboo Omega Hotrods (snappy yet pressable) baked into the deck—which make the Muse equally ideal for charging early AM groomers and blasting through late-day chunder. Oh yeah, and the park laps. The Muse is most definitely at home on jumps, rails, and transition, thanks to its medium flex.
