Big week for Chloe Kim! The snowboarding superstar added another milestone to her award-studded career on April 20, 2026, winning the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year Award for a record third time at the 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony in Madrid, Spain. Earlier in the week, she was also named to the Time Magazine annual 100 Most Influential People list for 2026, a distinction she earned back in 2018 as well following her first Olympic gold medal. Pretty good award season after she barely missed the three-peat gold at the Olympics in Italy, riding away with silver after Gaon Choi claimed the top of the podium on her third and final run.

With three Laureus trophies now to her name, Kim sits second on the all-time list for the Action Sportsperson award, trailing only surfing icon Kelly Slater, who has claimed the honor four times. It’s a remarkable testament to her place in action sports at just 25 years old. Chloe was the only action sports athlete named to the Time list this year, although there were other Olympians and athletes. The sporting figures recognized were Chloe, F1 champion Lando Norris, golfer Scottie Scheffler, sprinter Noah Lyles, figure skater Alysa Liu, and ice hockey player Hilary Knight.
