Last week, a tragic avalanche took the lives of three pillars in the snowboard community near Kootenay Lake, British Columbia. Jeff Keenan, Alex Pashley, and Jason Remple were exemplary members of our culture and the nonstop tributes flowing on social media and sites since the accident are a testament to what these three represented to us all. Countless stories from friends, family, and acquaintances left impacted by their lives are alongside efforts to help those closest to the disaster, including one member from the riding party that survived the event, Clay Mitchell. Links to donate and remembrances are below. Our hearts go out to everyone involved.
Jeff Keenan: A gofundme has been set up for Jeff’s wife (professional snowboarder Leanne Pelosi) and son here.
Alex Pashley: A mealtrain has been set up for Alex’s family. You can donate here.
Jason Remple: The owner of Stellar Heli and lead guide on the trip. Donations to help his family can be sent here.
Clay Mitchell: Mitchell survived the accident, but was critically injured. A gofundmepage has been set up to help with his recovery costs here.
