Danny Davis, Mountain Dew and Burton team up to bring Peace Park to the masses

Mountain Dew® and Burton have teamed up with professional snowboarder Danny Davis to co-create and release Peace Park – a 44-minute film about the innovative snowboard park that is reconnecting riders with the fun, creative roots of the sport. Built and filmed in the West Tetons in Wyoming, this innovative park, complete with 22-foot bowl, was the last, “unofficial” rider-judged contest, following a heavy pro-circuit snowboard season. Peace Park will air nationally on ABC on Sunday, November 30 at 2 p.m. ET and will be available immediately afterward to view globally for free online via the Mountain Dew Youtube channel.

“Peace Park is all about bringing the soul back into snowboarding,” comments Davis. “I’m really stoked that my sponsors believe in me and continue to support my vision of keeping snowboarding fun and creative. This year’s Peace Park is different than any other, offering something for every style of snowboarder to ride. We had riders from all around the world show up!”

Peace Park began three years ago when Davis craved something beyond the standard slopestyle and halfpipe snowboarding competitions. Each year, the design evolves, allowing elite snowboarders to bring their unique creativity and expression to the mountain. The first installment, Peace Pipe, was a halfpipe that included additional park-like features such as rails and jumps. This expansion on the halfpipe became so widely revered among riders that Davis decided to continue advancing his vision, changing the layout from a pipe to a full park and calling it Peace Park. With the help of Mountain Dew, Burton and Snow Park Technologies (SPT), Davis was able to create and design the ultimate innovative terrain park, offering an array of options for snowboarders to ride with true style.

“Mountain Dew is all about looking at life through your own lens and having a damn good time while you’re living it. That ethos is brought to life when you see Danny and the other snowboarders ride through Peace Park,” said Greg Lyons, Vice President of Marketing, Mountain Dew. “We are thrilled to continue to support Danny’s vision to instigate creativity on the mountains and help progress the sport of snowboarding.”

“Burton is proud to work with Danny and Mountain Dew on progressive film projects like Peace Park,” said Nick Sargent, Burton’s Vice President of Global Business Alliances. “This is the third edition of the Peace Park project, and everyone agrees that this year’s film is the best one we’ve created together. We all look forward to watching it on ABC later this month.”
