Adventure travel company SASS Global Travel has partnered with snowboard brand Jones Snowboards for the second year of their Jones Split Clinics at SASS Argentina. Building on the success of last summer in Argentina and this past winter in Japan, SASS will be offering splitboard clinics with the use of Jones Snowboards splitboards and Spark R&D bindings to all snowboarders participating in their big mountain backcountry guided operation.

For the past eleven years, SASS Global Travel has offered one of the premier guided backcountry snowboarding experiences in the world at their flagship SASS Argentina program based in Bariloche, Argentina. Taking advantage of full-on winter conditions in the Andes Mountains during the Northern Hemisphere summer, SASS Argentina is an all-ages guided program that offers a rare opportunity for dedicated snowboarders to ride incredible backcountry terrain in August and learn critical backcountry skills such as avalanche awareness and splitboarding from SASS professional coaches like Jones Snowboards’ Ambassador Guide and Spark R&D team member, Chris Coulter.

This year’s fleet will include Jones Snowboards’ award winning splitboard models including the Solution and the Explorer in sizes for both men and women. In addition, each splitboard will be outfitted with Spark R&D bindings including the Afterburner and Magneto models, both featuring the revolutionary Tesla system. “This is a rare opportunity for snowboarders new to splitboarding to get on the best equipment available and focus on developing their skills from set-up to skinning to transitions all with someone who has spent a ton of time on it giving them instruction throughout the day,” said SASS Argentina Guide Chris Coulter.

These clinics add to SASS’ educational emphasis. Offering both AIARE and CAA avalanche awareness courses, college credits through Sierra Nevada College and a focus on not just showing clients to the goods, but rather teaching them the skills necessary to find them on their own in the future separates SASS from the standard guiding operation. “We are thrilled to support SASS’ efforts to inspire new backcountry riders and educate them about both splitboard skills and safe backcountry travel techniques,” said Seth Lightcap, Jones Snowboards Marketing Director and Team Manager.
