With 100% of the mountain still open and heavy snow in the forecast this week, Breck’s Spring Fever Festival concludes with a bang this weekend – Breck’s closing weekend – with the best skiing conditions Colorado and the BudLight Concert series finale, featuring 3OH!3 and Matisyahu on the Spring Fever stage Saturday and Sunday. This is the final weekend of the 2012-13 ski season and Breckenridge Ski Resort’s month-long Spring Fever Festival; the weekend also includes the final 5 ‘til 5 Happy Hour and the grueling Imperial Challenge.

The full line-up of this closing week’s Spring Fever events is as follows:

Breckenridge Ascent Series Finale (5:30 – 7:30p.m.) -Take on a different kind of challenge this winter with the Annual Breckenridge Ascent Series, presented by the Breckenridge Ski Resort and the Breckenridge Recreation Department. This is the final race of the series; use any kind of way to get up the mountain, but skis or a snowboard are required to come back down! Friday, April 12th
Breck 5 ‘til 5 Terrain Park Happy Hour (2:00 – 5:00p.m.) – Snowboarders and freeskiers won’t want to miss this final 5 ‘til 5 Happy Hour at Peak 8, where Breck will be running the 5 Chair 1 hour later than the rest of the resort, until 5 p.m.! This means extra exclusive access to the Freeway and Park Lane terrain parks, music from DJ DC, plus FREE hot dogs, prizes and products courtesy of Spring Fever sponsor, Red Bull.

Saturday, April 13
The Imperial Challenge Bike/Ascent/Descent Race (10:00 a.m.) – The 22nd Imperial Challenge is the most unique pseudo-triathlon anywhere! This grueling challenge consists of a 6-mile bike ride from the Town of Breckenridge to the base of Peak 8 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort; an ascent to either the top of the T-Bar (Sport Course 2,500’) or to the true peak of Peak 8 (Expert Course 3,000’); then finally a descent to the base of Peak 8 and the finish! Visit www.mavsports.com for details and to register.

3OH!3 (2:00p.m.) – One of Colorado’s favorite hometown bands, 3OH!3 is the electropop duo of Sean Foreman and Nathanial Motte, who named the band after the area code of their hometown of Boulder, Colorado. Having collaborated with Lil’ John, Katy Perry and Ke$ha, 3OH!3 has piled up an impressive resume that’s seen them vying for MTV Video Music Awards, selling out shows worldwide, racking up platinum singles, and creating instant parties at festivals across the globe. Catch 3Oh!3 live for free on Saturday as part of the BudLight Free Concert Series as they perform on the Breck Spring Fever stage on the snow at the Peak 8 base; venue gates open at 2:00pm.

Sunday, April 14th – Breck Closing Day
Matisyahu (2:00p.m.) – This year’s Closing Day at Breck will be like no other, as Matisyahu helps send off ski season in style with a free concert on the snow! Matisyahu fuses the contemporary styles of rap, beatboxing and hip-hop with the more traditional vocal disciplines of jazz’s scat singing and Judaism’s hazzan style of songful prayer, rolling it all into a dominant background of reggae. His hit single “King Without a Crown” launched him to stardom and was a Top 40 hit. He has been named Top Reggae Artist by Billboard and continues to produce inspirational hits that also contain deep meaning. Catch Matisyahu live for free on Sunday as part of the BudLight Free Concert Series as he performs on the Breck Spring Fever stage on the snow at the Peak 8 base; venue gates open at 2:00pm.

Breck Spring Fever is presented by Bud Light, Mountain Dew and Red Bull. Associate partners include Go Pro, Helly Hansen, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Breckenridge, and Maui Jim.
