Down Days in Govy: Exploring the Oregon Coast

With the Drink Water Rat Race and High Cascade Session 3 wrapped up, Brandon Huttenlocher and I found ourselves with a couple of days off from our summer jobs at High Cascade. We wanted to get the most out of our rare days without structure so, naturally, we slept in until 11:00am, threw together our gear, and drove in the general direction of Oregon Coast with no solid plans at all.

We met up with heavy crew of Rat Racers, such as Austin Smith, Gigi Rüf, Nicolas Müller, Bryan Fox, and the High Cascade coaches at the beach to get our feet wet in the surf. We let coincidence guide us, and ended up with a few days full of adventures, campfires, hidden campsites, random discoveries, good friends and good times.

Here’s to the weekend, even if it happens to fall on a Monday.
