Park City, Utah – January 28 2014 – Today, Skullcandy Inc.  the original performance and lifestyle audio brand, is pleased to announce that pro snowboarder, Olympic slopestyle competitor and two-time Winter X Games champion Mark McMorris has joined its family of elite athletes. Mark is widely recognized as one of the most dynamic slopestyle riders in the world using a unique blend of athleticism and style to secure signature wins at events like X-Games, the US Open and key Dew Tour stops.

With slopestyle making its debut in the 2014 Olympics at Sochi, 20-year-old Mark McMorris is literally the one to watch this year. Never without headphones on or earbuds in, McMorris is constantly driven and inspired by the music he listens to—which made teaming up with Skullcandy, and the brand’s best in class crew, a seamless decision as he heads into the 2014 Games.

“When looking to partner with a brand, I always aim to align myself with the best in the business at what they do to help me achieve my goals and keep pushing forward,” said McMorris. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the Skullcandy family, getting involved in product development and seeing where this exciting new partnership takes me.”

“Mark is joining an amazing family of athletes and artists who, similar to him, are committed to performing at the highest level,” said Rob Layer, Sports Marketing Manager, Skullcandy.

“Historically speaking, he is one of the best snowboarders to date. He’s a great fit for our brand and we are hyped to welcome Mark to the Skullcandy family with open arms.”

In addition to Skullcandy, McMorris’ current sponsors include Burton, Red Bull, Oakley, AWSM, DVS, Mophie, BMW, Sports Chek and General Mills.
