Banff, Alberta, Canada– Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort will open its doors to guests this Friday, November 14, 2014.
With over 25 cm (10 in) of snow having blanketed the mountain over the past few days, the resort is poised for a solid start to the 2014- 2015 ski season with a base of over 62 cm (24 in) and even more of the white stuff on the way.
“Large snowfalls over the last couple of days have made this mid-November opening possible,” says Dave Riley, Chief Operating Officer, Sunshine Village, “and we couldn’t have done it without the hard work and determination of the entire Sunshine Village team.”
Exact lifts and runs opening will be announced in the next few days. Reduced prices for opening day will be in effect as well.
The resort will also offer full ski school programs as well as Tiny Tiger and Kids Kampus programs on Friday, in addition to opening all on-mountain rentals, dining and retail venues.
Skiers and riders are advised to use caution as early season conditions mean there may be unmarked natural hazards around the resort.
