Don’t Ever Take Sliding For Granted
Any time you can put everything aside and get on the hill, feel the wind on your face, the snow on your edges and spend a moment with gravity, water and a slide as your #1 priority, you are winning on such a high level. I think people forget how good life is when you are playing.

Chase Your Dreams of Perfection
As good as it gets is actually better than you can imagine. Save up your money and go to Nelson in February and book a spot with Jeff Pensiero at Baldface or the crew at Retallack, go to Baker, or Japan, or Europe, or anywhere you aspire. It’s more than worth it. Make incredible memories and blast so many face shots that you start working on the art of turning without explosions. Go faster and bigger than you ever have, get so much powder that you expand your mind and start closing your eyes and feeling the run. Go again and again until your body won’t let you. Save a little money and bring a friend who can’t afford it… blow their mind for no reason, it’ll be a life changer.

Slice It A Little Thinner
You can’t and don’t want to do that every day, so slice snowboarding thinner. I’m always amazed by the doors you open… the narrower you focus the more there is.

A day in the streets or a backyard DIY zone with friends is better than you think. Ted Borland and that Bone Zone crew always seem to be laughing. Jesse Burtner and the Think Thank crew have spent decades slicing snowboarding thinner, and they keep finding delicious progression morsels.

Splitboarding in the backcountry is always an epic adventure. When you turn things upside down and look at all the terrain that isn’t a resort you realize the planet is an unlimited shred playground, and most of that is pow!

Get up early, hike your favorite line then enjoy an Internet hyped, peak season, sunny pow day Saturday lift line. Show up late, do some creative parking at your local resort, get in line and enjoy the show, Don’t even stress the riding… the humans are the real show.

Jamie Lynn
Jamie Lynn and his rock and roll express sum up where snowboarding is right now. It’s all there for you; all you have to do is engage. He went from traveling in an RV with Wes, Temple, Jesse B. and our crew to Holy Bowly and Superpark, straight into going on skate tours with Mikey Swearingen, Sky and the crew rocking music, art and entertainment non-stop. Make yourself available for a good time and you will have one. Jamie is around 40 and has been touring with the groms for months. He and our skate crew basically snowboard on skateboards. Skateboard your way to Mt. Hood park by park, shred the public park or help the crew at HCSC and get into their snowskate park. Skate your way park by park to the beach — surf, skate snow — do it all in one day, fill a lifetime with it. Cruise, charge, adventure; let the forces of glide, slide and gravity tickle your fancy.

Don’t forget to smell the roses and take in everything the world has to offer beyond snowboarding. In life and in shred the bangers are epic, but the transitions are what makes it all come together beautifully. Listen to the Melvins, their transitions are nicer than their songs… if they have songs.

There is plenty of meat on the bone. Get out there.
