Overall winners Kelly Clark for first, Ursina Holler in second, and Soko Yamaoka takes third. Matt Murray photo. Gretchen Bleiler and the ladies did it up once again at the COVERGIRL Snow Angels in Aspen last weekend. In its third year, the one-of-a kind event brings together fifteen handpicked halfpipe riders, to shred, relax, and bond for three days of pure bliss. The schedule reads something like this: (read between the lines in parentheses) Friday 8:00-9:00am Yoga (with a Nike certified private instructor) 10:00-1:00pm Film, Photoshoot, and Freeride (shred pow, mess around, have fun, maybe take some photos in between) 2:00-6:00pm Facials and Massages (in one of the nicest spas in Aspen/Snowmass, in one of the sickest hotels, the Viceroy)
The “relaxation room” in the Viceroy spa. Fancy. 7:00pm Welcome Dinner (drink wine, gossip, and eat yummy food) Saturday 10:00-1:00pm Superpipe Competition (shred laps in the private Snowmass 22-foot Superpipe designed and certified by the best pipe builder in the game, Frank Wells)

Kelly Clark. Matt Murray photo. 2:00-3:00pm Yoga (once again, stretching it out) 4:00-6:00pm Poolside Apres (at the incredible new Viceroy pool surrounded by firepits, cabanas, free drinks, a dj, and boots with the fur)
The Viceroy. Slopeside. Duh. 6:30-8:30pm Athlete Workshop (talk about how to be environmentally conscious and do good for the planet, drink a few cocktails possibly)
Another beautiful night in Aspen. Sunday 9:00-10:00am Yoga (a much needed rejuvenation for the hangover from the night before) 11:00-2:00pm Film, Photoshoot, Freeride (ski for fun and laugh at each other, hot laps all day in epic Spring conditions, maybe take some runs later through the private halfpipe for some shots)
Elena Hight and Linn Haug about to test their skiing skills. 2:00-5:00pm Facials and Massages (more relaxation and beautification) 5:00-8:00pm COVERGIRL Makeovers (head to toe treatment: hair, makeup and nails) 9:00-12:00am Girls Night Out (open bar, party time at Belly Up in Aspen with 80’s cover band Danger Kitty)
Blackmail. Needless to say after the intense contest season most of the girls have had with the Olympics, the Snow Angels is the ultimate wind down, bonding session. This year the newly opened Viceroy in Snowmass hosted the girls, providing a true Aspen getaway. If you have some money to spare and want to escape to Aspen this is the place to go. Check out an array of photos from the weekend with more to follow. T.S.
Comfy fur blankets. So Aspen.
Sweet bathtub/shower.
Handmade treats from downstairs. Don’t mind if I do.

Norweigan, Linn Haug is a little firecracker both on and off the slopes. Matt Murray photo.
GB ain’t a Olympic silver medalist for no reason. Although she didn’t podium this year (both at the Olympics and at Snow Angels) her hometown peeps were out in full force. I mean, she does have a key to the city. Matt Murray photo.
Kelly Clark gettin’ stupid, dumb, retarded. After seeing this photo she said “I don’t even think I could bend like that on the ground if I tried.” Matt Murray photo.

Thanks for the warning.
Who doesn’t love a good cover band? Danger Kitty is the shit.
Crowd shot.
Maddy Schaffrick was definitely not born in the 80’s. She sure can look the part though.
Neither was Ellery Hollingsworth but no one has to know.
Filmer John Roderick and Grind TV’s Heather Hendrix.

“Pour some sugar on me, in the name of love.”
Sing it Mercedes! A classic way to end the night. www.aspensnowmass.com www.viceroyhotelandresorts.com/snowmass
