Mt. Bachelor is a natural terrain park. As the tallest mountain (it’s actually a volcano) in the area, high winds are a common occurrence that produce wind lips everywhere, thus providing a freestyle playground for riders like Austin Smith, Josh Dirksen, Ben Ferguson, and countless others to explore. Now that Louif Paradis has joined the Smith team, Austin gave him a guided tour of his home mountain that coincided with one of the most iconic events in snowboarding: The Dirksen Derby. Follow cams to berm turning, Life Beyond Walls puts Mt. Bachelor on full display.

Josh Dirksen and Austin Smith have called Bend, Oregon home for over a decade. With Mt. Bachelor in their backyard, there’s plenty of terrain to explore throughout the year. As the Dirksen Derby enters its ninth year, the draw of the friendly competition attracts snowboarders from across the world. As the snow continued to fall throughout the weekend, it allowed for Austin to show new Smith Athlete Louif Paradis around his home resort in Life Beyond Walls.
