17-year-old Zoi Sadowski-Synnott of New Zealand earned her first Burton U·S·Open title by winning Women’s Slopestyle Finals on Friday, March 1st in Vail, Colorado at the 37th annual Burton U·S·Open.
Zoi’s run included heavy tricks in the upper rail section, which kicked off with a massive-scoring switch boardslide 270 out, to a switch 50-50 switch backside 180 melon out, 50-50 backside 180 starfish out.On the first jump, she sent a stylish switch backside 900 stalefish, into a frontside 720 mute on the side transition feature and ended with a huge backside 540 stalefish.
“I can’t even explain how I’m feeling right now, I’m just happy to be here and happy to put down a run,” said Zoi after the event. “This was one of the first contests I watched when I first started competing and I’ve always wanted to go. I’m just so stoked right now, ” she continued.
Julia Marino came out swinging and stomped her way to second, while Miyabi Onitsuka claimed third.
