“It was always full of snow and full of ice, and this year it seems a bit… worse off.” — Brandon Cocard

Last year was one of the most challenging summers that snowboarders have faced on Mt. Hood in years. The drought that crippled western resorts had no mercy on the snowpack that High Cascade depends on for its summer riding. But those reports couldn’t discourage Brandon Cocard, Yusaku Horii and the Deeluxe crew from making the annual pilgrimage to one of snowboarding’s holy of holies.

With Yusaki and Brandon’s smooth flow, and a solid track from The Munsens, this is one of the best Mt. Hood edits we have seen in a long time.

From Deeluxe:

DEELUXE the Rambler // Episode #8 Turning into a dune.

A trip to Mt. Hood Oregon feat. Brandon Cocard & Yusaku Horii.

Conquering the heat of the summer.

When we arrived in Oregon we already knew that conditions will be a challenge.

It was 7 years ago that I had seen Palmer snowfield the last time.

Sadly I looked beyond the rocks and dust to see some snow left in the cascades of these dunes.

Global warming is real. Don’t forget about that.

Snowboarding in summer might not be forever.

Let’s give our best to protect what we got.
