A great boot is equal the sum of its parts, and there’s no part your foot interacts with more than the liner. Since your tender tootsies are swaddled in them all day, comfort is key.

Thanks to a whole lot of…Intuition, Ride Snowboards uses heat-moldable liners, which can be custom-fit to your custom feet.

Let’s take a look into how liners are constructed.

A boot’s liner is sort of like a layer cake, with each layer working together to achieve the ultimate goal: comfort and warmth.

Ride uses their charcoal-infused Black Gold liner mesh to mitigate foot odor, which is bonded to a low-density porous foam. This foam layer is gentle to the touch, and its pores help retain heat.

Next, is a lamination of Intuition’s dual-density foam. Both layers of this laminated layup are thermoformable, and as they heat up, the material becomes more pliable.

Ride also bonds J Bars into their liners to help achieve appropriate ankle support, as well as help combat heel lift inside of your boot.

The heat molding process can be done at your local shop. All Ride Snowboards dealers have a boot oven. If you’re in a pinch, though, all it takes is a pair of tube socks, a few pounds of white rice, and a microwave to be thermoforming your boots in no time. While it sounds kind of crazy, here’s how to do it (trust us, it actually works).

Once the heating process is done, and the liners are all gooey, slip your feet in, snug the boots down, and do a little celebration dance. As the boots cool down, Ride’s Intuition liners will retain the exact shape of your feet, and you’ll have the perfect fitting boots.
