Burton Blossom
It shouldn’t be a shock that the Blossom just keeps growing. Four years in, we have called it out every season as a standout, with no plan on stopping. If you haven’t guessed by now, we back this board. You should probably get one. Camber, twin, medium(ish) flex…aka fun as hell, easily winding up in the Platinum Picks for 2025.
It shocks us that with the amount of these on the hill, not only do we never tire of seeing the graphic, but each board still feels like a one-off original piece from Niels Schack. Maybe since it’s a favorite of Luke Winkelmann, Zeb Powell, Grace Warner and plenty of other Burton team riders, we’re always seeing it from different angles and speeds and accompanying a vast array of tricks—or maybe it’s because Niels and Morgan Katomba always lay down an abstract graphic that is as intriguing as it is just undeniably cool. The cement-inspired topsheet features a base graphic that Schack describes as what the inside of a broken stone looks like. But the rock-solid combo between the two artists is really just the tip of the iceberg. While the board looks slightly weathered, the inside is sparkling new, and you feel it when you ride it. A good amount of pop, solid on jumps, a star on the steel, holds up in turns all over the resort—if you find yourself on the fence, just know there isn’t a board we would rather be riding across said fence than this one.
