First Impression. It represents a departure from what I’m used to from Bataleon, being one of the very first decks that completely drops their Triple Base Technology. Combine a straight, flat base with a good bit of traditional camber and a stiffer flex, and this board brings a much more serious, powerful vibe to the table.

Edge Hold. The edge hold is locked-in. Without the uplifted edges of 3BT, this board provides a classic camber connection to the snow. It never feels loose or twitchy; once you set your edge, it bites hard and stays firmly planted.

Edge Transition. The board moves edge-to-edge with a powerful, commanding response. It lacks the rolling, loose pivot point of a 3BT deck, but it rewards proper technique with instantaneous, snappy direction changes.

Drive // Pop. The Placebo has great pop but you have to really load up the traditional camber zone. It snaps out of the apex of a turn with a powerhouse drive that accelerates you seamlessly into the next turn.

Nimbleness & Predictability. Despite its freeride-leaning blueprint, switch riding feels surprisingly natural.

Stability at Speed. The personality truly comes alive at higher velocities—that’s when you can put more force into the core and it feels incredibly confident and rock-solid when hauling ass.

Fun Factor. It absolutely loves airtime. It provides loads of stability to step up to the large ramps and effortlessly stomp out the landing. Big airs, floaty spins, and chill, stylish grabs are the absolute ticket on this deck.

Overall Impression. The Placebo is a change of pace for Bataleon. If you want a classic, hard-charging resort board that can haul ass, cut through slush, and send big hits with total confidence, this is an incredibly capable weapon. It trades park-twin looseness for power and stability, making it a stellar resort option for experienced riders who want to charge.

Who is this board for? Experienced riders who want a powerful, traditional-camber feel under their feet and stay completely locked-in on edge.
