Performance Review
First Impression. I’ll admit, I was intimidated. I’ve never ridden a board this big, but the moment I pointed it, my enjoyment level maxed out. It was far easier to turn than expected; in fact, I spent the whole run giggling.
Toe vs. Heel Edge Hold
- Toe Edge: Incredible hold. You can keep pushing and digging the rail as deep as you want, and the board simply refuses to let go. Heel Edge: Remarkably secure. It doesn’t get more fun than having a board you can trust this implicitly.

Edge Transition. Despite the length, the transition feels surprisingly fluid. Once you engage that rail, the board tracks beautifully. However, it’s worth noting that it doesn’t snap between turns at low speeds—you need to pick your line, commit, and let the board work.
Drive Out of Turns. The drive is immense. Because of its massive overall length, the Libzilla feels unstoppable, launching you into the next turn with a “freight train” level of power.
Stability at Speed. I can’t recall a board that was more stable at high speeds. It doesn’t just ride over chop; it annihilates it. It demands to be ridden fast and with aggression, making it a perfect match for advanced riders who want to find the mountain’s speed limit.
Fun Factor. Watching the rest of the crew react to me muscling this beast around Mammoth was half the fun. It made me feel like I was exploring snowboarding all over again. It’s an attention-getter and people will stop to talk to you about it.
The Deep Dive
Overall Impression The Libzilla is a special board. While it isn’t meant to be a daily driver, it put an instant smile on my face that lasted all day. The collaboration between Lib Tech and Mayhem has produced a board that feels like a surf-inspired cruiser on steroids. It’s built for long, drawn-out turns and high-speed dominance.
Where it shines:
- Terrain: Wide-open trails. It plows through in all snow types
- Speed: Fast!
- Turn Radius: Long, sweeping carves.
Who is this board for? Advanced to expert riders who enjoy a surf-style approach to carving and want a unique, high-velocity experience.
