First Impression. I really enjoyed this board, though my initial thought during the first run was a clear sign of its true nature: “I need to get this into the park.” It has a nice sidecut and a slightly wider shape that makes it fun on edge.

Toe vs. Heel Edge Hold

  • Toe Edge: Comfortable and easy to engage, making it fun for quick setup carves before side hits.
  • Heel Edge: Steady at moderate velocities, though it can feel a bit loose if you try to brace against a lot of high-speed chatter.

Edge Transition. Transitions are smooth, mellow, and predictable. It rolls from toe to heel with an easygoing fluid motion. I had the most fun diving into shorter-radius turns at a more relaxed pace.

Drive Out of Turns. The drive matches its medium flex profile. It has a playful, energetic snap that behaves a lot like the ThirtyTwo T32M twin, but with a directional footprint. It won’t slingshot you out of a turn like a rigid cambered plank, but it gives back a nice, friendly amount of energy when loaded up.

Stability at Speed. The Snafu feels most at home at moderate speeds. The directional nose, setback, and slight taper help it glide over variable snow conditions better than a true twin. In steeper terrain, it will feel a little limited, but it can absolutely manage if you keep your speed under control.

Fun Factor. This board wasn’t built as a true carving machine, but it has the freestyle character that made me love it. It’s an amazing tool for just playing around on the mountain, hitting side hits, and sneaking in a park lap.

Overall Impression The ThirtyTwo Snafu is an amazing resort board for the more freestyle-focused rider. It behaves essentially like a directional version of the T32M park twin—same lively character, just a different shape. The Snafu is a blast if you want a directional shape with a soft heart. If you want a board that can seamlessly transition from carving casual morning groomers to sliding rails in the afternoon, this is an excellent choice.

Where it shines:

  • Terrain: It thrives on side hits, small to medium park features, and finding soft snow stashes around the resort
  • Speed: Moderate speeds
  • Turn Radius: Short-to-medium radius

Who is this board for? Freestyle-oriented riders who want an all-mountain daily driver that enhances their experience on edge and in soft snow compared to their traditional park board.
