First Impression. Slightly stiff and a bit wide underfoot but only took one lap to realize this board is built for performance. It felt immediately stable, powerful, and aggressive. Beyond its freestyle capabilities, I could tell right away that this board is designed to hold a steady edge, making it feel very reliable.

Edge Hold. The edge hold on this board is impressive. It tracks beautifully and feels incredibly secure when you’re leaning into a turn. This stability makes it a great tool when you’re edging into large features or navigating high-speed approaches.

Edge Transition. Transitions are sharp and energetic. Thanks to the Carbon DarkWeb reinforcement and the triaxial glass, the board moves from edge to edge with a level of precision that rewards an active rider.

Drive // Pop. The board generates a solid amount of energy, though it leans more toward stability than a surfy feel. The Twin Combination Camber provides a reliable snap out of turns, ensuring you maintain your momentum and speed as you exit the arc and head toward the next feature.

Nimbleness & Predictability. Despite its slightly wider and stiffer feel, the Afterblack is remarkably predictable. It behaves consistently, which is a massive confidence booster in the park.

Stability at Speed. This is where the board truly shines. It is built to handle high speeds and larger features without flinching. The BAP Core and carbon enhancements provide excellent damping, so you can charge through chop or point it down a heavy jump line with total confidence.

Fun Factor. The fun factor comes from its “send-it” attitude. The ability to generate lots of pop combined with its aggressive temperament makes for an exciting session.

Who is this board for? Intermediate to advanced riders who enjoy going fast and hitting larger features. It’s for the rider who wants a board that won’t falter when things get aggressive.

Overall Impression The Afterblack is a high-performance freestyle machine that doesn’t shy away from the rest of the mountain. It manages to balance a medium/stiff flex with a lively camber profile, creating a ride that is both powerful and precise. It is an underrated all-arounder that translates its stability and pop perfectly from the groomers into the heart of the park.
