Rome has kind of been on one this past year. Their latest movie, Swarm, is all anyone is talking about right now. They have added some new names to the roster, and their board line has seen some new shapes and graphics that snowboarding seems to be pretty stoked on. With over 20 years of making boards under their belt, it shouldn’t really be a surprise. They make great stuff. Our gear editor Mike Basher has gotten to spend quite a bit of time on their boards the past few seasons and he chose the Ravine Pro to put up to the carving test out in Switzerland for our new Platinum Pick list and by all accounts, it was an easy favorite for spending all day all over the mountain. Check out his review and photos below!

Rome Ravine Pro – $699.95
Sizes: 152, 155, 158, 161, 159W, 162W, 165W
The Ravine walks a tightrope, as it’s equally capable as a carving tool and in powder. The tapered shape, especially with Rome’s 3D Diamond convex nose contour, helps the wide nose of the board rock quickly and smoothly from turn to turn, while the added width up front helps alleviate toe and heel drag. The formula is a win-win, both in powder and on piste. At speed, you can get low and hang on while the board goes to work. Carbon HotRods splay out from the rear stance inserts to the tail’s contact points, driving energy from your back foot to the snow for a powerful carving experience.
