2011 TNF Masters At Snowbird: Day 2

Day #2 of The North Face Masters of Snowboarding at Snowbird has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions. With an official "weather day" riders, media and event organizers were given the day off to go play outside in the snow or rest up for Sunday's finals.

Snow and wind have been hammering the ski resort all day today, and tomorrow is shaping up to be an incredible day of riding and powder turns. Most of the riders have stuck around to watch tomorrow's finals and cheer on their fellow big mountain snowboarders.

The freeride community at The North Face Masters events are sponsored by MSI, Primaloft, Snowboard Magazine, Subaru, Siege Audio and Sierra Nevada. Snowboarders on tour have come together to form a tight family unit, sharing the love of snowboarding and the great outdoors.

Our home base for the weekend has been The Cliff Lodge located slopeside ski in ski out steps from the Tram in the heart of Snowbird. The entire hotel was recently upgraded to include flat screen televisions, wireless internet, upgraded furnishings and best of all the newly renovated Cliff Spa.

The Cliff Spa features a unique solarium with stunning views, eucalyptuses steam room, Thai massage program, 21 rooms, over 30 treatment options and salon services. Also at the Spa is a state of the art yoga studio, full fitness center, rooftop pool and huge triangle shaped hot tub that features unparalleled views of Little Cottonwood Canyon and the Snowbird and Alta ski resorts.

All in all The Cliff Lodge and Spa is highly recomended to anyone coming to Snowbird or Alta to ski or even visit in the summer.

After a long day in the spa we decided to hike for some powder turns around the base of the ski resort. Dylan Welch, Mary Boddington, Dan Downing and myself were eager to try and get some shots.
