LJ Henriquez graduated from high school and dropped some news alongside the TDI crew earlier this week on Instagram. At first, we weren’t sure if he was changing brands or something, but the news is officially out: TDI is making a movie. The crew has been everywhere the past few years and is now putting down roots in a film set to debut this fall. Catching up with a founder of the group this morning over text, Cuban Lu sent us over some more details.
For those who don’t know you, give them something.
In Lu, I’m one of the founders of TDI. I’m like Lil Yatchy for the Concrete Boyz. I’m a snowboard filmer if we are talking snow industry, but I do a bunch of shit for TDI and in general, designing, creative directing, and world connecting.

Your movie finally dropping this fall?!
Yes king, finally 😭😭😭! Let’s run it 🕺🏾.
Where did the “Life Sure Is Sweet” name come from?
It’s something we say so much because we are living a fucked unreal life, traveling, partying, making a difference, snowboarding in the most insane places ever and living life to the fullest… Everywhere we are, anywhere, no matter what we are doing… someone says it, and we all start to evil laugh. It’s also a Druski and Jack Harlow skit lol.

How long have you been working on this one?
Two years, but really like three because it took a year to convince the brands and the crew, and shit… myself, that we could make a movie.
Who all is in it?
Rob Roethler, LJ Henriquez, Egan Wint, Erik Leon, David Djite, Yanneck Konda, Kiwi Pirshard, Adro Mitchell, Irie Jefferson, Mees, Seb Diaz.
Why did you want to make a movie?
I feel like to matter in anything, you have to follow the path that the greats before you did (with your own sauce). Snowboard movies, no matter the time period, change snowboarding. They impact the global community and create so much connection between people all over, just from the vibes. For TDI to be a real snowboard crew and for the riders to grow in their own paths, we definitely had to, plus we just wanted to do some harddd shit. It all doesn’t mean shit if you don’t hunker down and prove the hype… even though we just be vibing.

Highlights from filming?
Plenty. We went to Japan twice. Once with the whole crew last year, and that was pretty fucking sick. Literally with 15 people… it was our first trip ever filming together for the movie, and it was a record snow year in Japan so all that magic was there. The street crew had the worst fucking time, pow crew was in heaven, but overall staying up every night in our hallway even though we were dead tired just to hang out or go to McDonalds. After driving around for hours, not finding shit, and watching someone crash out from being tired and laughing at each other collectively is the best thing you could ask for tbh.
Switzerland… we just love going to Laax because Laax loves us.
We filmed in Tahoe a bunch, too. It has a special place in my heart for sure… top of the world.

What is TDI (Technically Doing It)?
TDI is a crew of most of the pro black and brown snowboarders and skiers in the world (this movie is only the borders). The crew hosts our own community events around the world , collaborates with a lot of the major brands and entities in the industry, runs production, and creates a lot of content. We also throw some fire ass parties by ourselves or with brands. A collective of homies doing cool shit running around the globe frfr. Technically Doing It means basically no matter the level, you are doing something. Pro chef or just someone who likes to cook… a pro basketball player or just someone who likes to vibe, no matter what it is, you are technically doing it, so be stoked and be hype because you are doing you.

Who is editing the project?
Colden Rand and I are editing it together. David is gonna be there too. We are planning to go somewhere warm and edit it. The filmers were Colden Rand, Diego Huarcaya-Pro, Chaz Kovacs, Sam Moody, Fabio Sturm, and me.
Anything else you want to say?
If you’ve been watching us over the last two years run around the planet, and you’re wondering why or how and if it’s deserved, watch it <3
