Summer snowboard camp is one of few places where a young snowboard fanatic can have almost guaranteed interaction with their favorite pros in the short span of a week. It’s these interactions that can simply make a camper’s summer, or drive passion back into snowboarding forever.
On July 1st, TEAM SPORTS presented by RIDE and K2 took place on-hill at High Cascade Snowboard Camp and the 90-degree weather wasn’t the only factor heating things up. Six teams captained by RIDE and K2 team riders led their squads of campers through a substantial trick list on jumps and rails. Team captains consisted of RIDE Global Ams, Spencer Schubert, Dillon Ojo and Danimals, while K2 was headed by Mark Wilson, Parker Szumowski and Danika Duffy. The trick lists for the rail portion were comprised of everything thing from a frontside 50-50 to a switch backside 180 with a press.
After a 30 minute jam on the rails, it was off to the medium-sized jump where a similar list was made up of technical grabs needed to be completed with a straight air, all the way up to 360.
After combining the total amount of tricks completed on the rail portion and the jump portion team Parker Szumowski came out on top with 40 total tricks completed. No injuries, lots of new tricks learned and smiles all around called for success of the second annual TEAM SPORTS.
What went down last year for the first annual TEAM SPORTS from K2 and RIDE.
