Performance Review
First Impression. The weight (or lack thereof) was one of the first great traits we noticed. Extremely light thanks to Spring Break’s Hover Core, the Powder Racer rode effortlessly. While we didn’t get to enjoy deep powder conditions, it was still a blast floating the board above slushy afternoon snow.

Edge Hold. Designed as a powder-specific shape, the board’s main focus is to float on top of soft snow. With that said, the Powder Racer actually carved really well on the groomed runs. We attribute this to the camber between the bindings, which gave a solid edge hold.
Edge Transition. The board has a good amount of taper in the tail, which helped the board transition lightning fast from edge to edge. This trait is particularly useful in tighter tree lines.
Drive // Pop. The Powder Racer is meant to glide and float through turns to achieve that surfy feel. In other words, we weren’t looking for powerful drive out of carves, so it definitely presents a more relaxed vibe.
Nimbleness & Predictability. Once again, the lightweight characteristic really made the board nimble and easy to control. The rocker in the nose made it really fun to nose press and butter on the corduroy.
Stability at Speed. The Powder Racer is on the softer side, so it feels most at home cruising at medium speeds. We did open it up and take a few speed laps, and the added width did increase its stability.
Fun Factor. Super fun board! While we didn’t get the dreamy bottomless powder during the test, this board still rode surprisingly well all around the mountain. It’s a playful board that begs the rider to get creative and search out the soft snow.
The Deep Dive
Overall Impression. A solid powder board with enough freestyle elements to make for an amazing resort slayer. Where this board will really shine is on a typical powder day when you’re getting plenty of the goods in the morning, but once the resort gets tracked out, the Powder Racer has all the qualities to keep riding groomers and park for the remainder of the day without having to swap boards.
Who is this board for? Someone looking to add a powder board to their quiver but isn’t quite looking for an extreme pow board like a fish or swallowtail.
