Breck is kicking off 2013 this Friday, November 8, with Peak 8 being the first lift to open. 82 acres of terrain will be open for riding, including the top of Park Lane, which will boast several features. More terrain is predicted to open throughout the weekend.

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Nov. 5, 2013 — Peak 8 will be the first of five peaks to open at Breckenridge Ski Resort for the 2013/14 season on this Friday, November 8. Breckenridge will kick off opening day with approximately 82 acres of terrain on Springmeier, Middle Four O’clock and Trygve’s for skiing and riding. The top of Park Lane will also be open with several features. The Colorado SuperChair, 5-Chair and Rip’s Ride will start turning for the public at 9:00 a.m.

To celebrate this very special historic season ahead, guests at the base of Peak 8 can enjoy Breck’s new Bavarian cream stuffed éclairs, free to the first 2,000 guests, courtesy of the Ski Hill Grill, Nature Valley Soft Baked Oatmeal Squares, and coffee provided by Starbucks. Skiers and riders can also get amped up for first season runs with DJ DC spinning tunes from the Red Bull MXT vehicle.
The TBar will continue the all-day party at 11:00a.m.with specialty Red Bull cocktails, free TBar can coozies and one lucky guest will get to tap the first keg of Peak 6 inaugural season commemorative Amber Ale. Be one of the first 150 pass holders to flash your pass at the Epic Pass tent to win a free knit-hat or stop by and spin the wheel and try to win other awesome prizes.
Breck Ski & Ride School will offer both private and group lessons starting opening day and the GoldRunner Coaster will open at 11:00 a.m. The party continues all day long, until last chair of the day at 4:00p.m.
