Burton has released the dates and details for the 2014 US Open Snowboarding Qualifiers, which brings riders together to compete for a spot in the 32nd annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships. The contest will go down January 31st-February 2nd, with the top six men and the top three women from each discipline earning an automatic invite to the US Open in Vail.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (January 9, 2014) The Burton US Open Snowboarding Qualifiers, presented by MINI, is back January 31st – February 2nd at Seven Springs Mountain Resort where riders will compete for invites to the longest running, premier snowboarding event: the 32nd annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships presented by MINI. New for this year, the US Open Qualifiers will feature a juniors heat for kids 13 and under for both slopestyle and halfpipe.

The US Open Qualifiers is a place where up-and-coming riders can make a name for themselves by earning a coveted spot to compete at the iconic US Open Snowboarding Championships. Only the top six men and three women from the halfpipe and slopestyle competitions will get an automatic invite into the US Open, taking place in Vail, CO, so it’s a key contest for riders to take part in. Also up for grabs are valuable 4star World Snowboard Tour points and a piece of the $20,000 cash prize purse.

It all starts on Saturday, February 1st with the slopestyle competition where everyone is welcome to Seven Springs to watch world-class snowboarding, enjoy product demos and after-parties – all for FREE. Saturday will wrap up with ‘Party in Your Park’, a park and rail contest taking place in the all-new Industrial Parkway at Seven Springs. The action begins at 5pm and will end with the finals competition with winners from each of the other regional events competing for a cash prize and an invite to Burton Rail Days in Tokyo, Japan. And for more good times on Saturday night, stop by the US Open Qualifiers official after party at the Foggy Goggle from 8pm – 10pm. Be sure to come back on Sunday when it’s time for the halfpipe competition where the pressure will be on for the riders to earn a spot to compete in the legendary US Open halfpipe competition.
