The Capita snowboard company had another party in Seattle this past Friday. For the past few years Capita throws a party complete with new snowboard films and bands to rock your face off. This year the Capita party had a little more to celebrate. How about TEN years in business? Yea, that is worthy of a party with some serious snowboard cameos, videos, and of course a rock band to follow.

img_8023_0.jpgThe Capita Ten year anniversary party was highlighted by a reunion of sorts of many faces from the past present and future. Capita's base has been influenced and shaped by much more than riders and the boards they ride. People in attendance like Corey Smith, who has made some of the most progressive graphics and dropped many of buildings. Jason Locking, who was the original sales keeper and pusher of the board and worked alongside Blue at the first office in Blues house that eventually turned into the "Dude Room" and now is a jewelry and woman zone. Downstairs Kenny, who for a short while had the Capita softgoods inventory stored in his basement. Northwest sales representative Scott Downing who is the last of the original sales reps (thanks for the beer bath Sweaty). Cheryl and Mini were there and thanks to their pens, thousands of the first Capita catalogs phone numbers were changed to show the true number. TJ Schneider, who is one of the original team riders and likes to do double duty these days behind and in front of the lens. We could drop names of other party animals in the crowd like Peter Line, Bobby Meeks, and team POW, who have all lent some support over the years, but these are the people who in some way helped shaped what Capita is today and it was great to see them all there together again.

Aside from all the catching up and story telling the greatest rock band in the world, The Supersuckers, had to get busy. They played loud and fast. The future of Capita was front row rocking out way past there bedtime and Eddie Spaghetti flew in from New York for one night just to rock as The Supersuckers front-man.

It was another night in the history of Capita. I could go on and on with storytelling but maybe that should be saved for a book that could be unveiled at the Capita 15 year party. Big thanks to everyone who helped with the party, The Supersuckers, and Blue Montgomery for once again magically putting this all together.
