Watching the doubles teams take to the Red Bull Double Pipe was an experience. After the event was postponed until Saturday, March 14th for more favorable weather, riders took a week’s worth of practice to the course for a showcase of incredible snowboarding feats at the base of Buttermilk Mountain.

Even though there was a competitive element, Red Bull Double Pipe had an air of casualness that was compounded by a hot sun and slushy snow. These guys came out to have fun and they did exactly that. Arthur Longo and Oliver Gittler, aka Team France, donned berets and moustaches, Benji Farrow stomped a Miller Flip transfer over the head of teammate Brett Esser, the synchronized spine airs of Ben and Gabe Ferguson stole the show, then you had Scott Blum poaching handplants amidst it all. It was clear that all of the riders were relieved to just go snowboarding after a long season of competition.

But Benji Farrow is the rider that took home the goods on the last day of competition. Benji earned not only the second place spot with Brett Esser, but Best Trick for being the only person to transfer superpipe-to-superpipe across the channel gap, as well as the coveted Rider’s Choice award from his fellow competitors.

With that, Red Bull Double Pipe for 2015 concludes in tremendous fashion. All of the riders exceeded expectations for what could be done on one of the most diverse snow features to date and we are confident that as the course is fine tuned, the event is only going to get crazier.
