[GALLERY] Grenade Games 9 recap from Mammoth Mountain

The Grenade Games… what can we say? The ultimate anti-contest there ever was. A place where shredding embraces its punk rock roots. And a scene that pushes the PG-13 limits imposed by most high profile events. In short, real snowboarding.

This year Mammoth Mountain and the Unbound Terrain Park played host to the games which were presented by Monster Energy. Under sunny skies and scorching temps, riders from around the world took to the scene with all forms of recklessness. From the perfectly sculpted kickers to gardens of jibs and a smooth halfpipe, the stage was set for a slew of unsanctioned events which included a handplant contest, a dual slalom, a disastrous mogul race and of course the infamous Chinese Eyed Downhill. We should note that a little band called NOFX was there as well.

Enjoy the photo gallery which tells the story better than we ever could… partly because we don’t remember.
