Photobucket Campers at High Cascade Snowboard Camp at Mt. Hood have a new toy to keep them preoccupied off the hill this summer, the K2 HARSHMELLOW Foam Pit. HARSHMELLOW is a K2 signature technology, used on a number of its boards, boots, and bindings. The material is a “magical compound” that decreases negative vibrations, leg burn, and rough landings by creating a dampening effect under your foot. The perforated material visibly seen at the binding area of the board actually feels squishy, just like marshmallows. What better material to use for foam pit blocks! This collaboration with K2 and HCSC makes perfect sense since foam pits are all the rage these days. Plus summer camp is all about fun, as is K2, so the idea was a no-brainer. Now campers can try new tricks without their parents worrying and take their skills to the slopes. “Teaming up with K2 to provide campers with a HARSHMELLOW Foam Pit, has been the best addition to camp since the kitchen started slicing bread,” said Preston Strout, Camp Director and Co-Owner of HCSC. Photobucket Campers have the option of launching off of the skate ramp or jumping into the foam pit via trampolines, The pit is located behind the HCSC demo center in Government Camp where campers can also try out next seasons HARSHMELLOW products firsthand. Genius. There is still some time to hit up summer camp so check out www.highcascade.com, and www.k2snowboarding.com to check out the line of HARSHMELLOW products including the Gretchen Bleiler Eco Pop board and the long-running Turbo Dream deck for the guys. Get on it!
