About last night…

It was a big night for Burlington, as Rome released their season project Particle down the street from their headquarters in Waterbury in one of the coolest premieres we’ve ever been to. Filmed and edited by Devin Bernard, the film is scored to a few of local “Best Beer Band” Greaseface’s songs. So, in the Rome fashion of doing things the fun way, they showed the film in complete silence, and let Greaseface take the stage to play along.

Highlights: You know there was a pit! The Leons (Maggie and Joey) got crazy tech at pretty much every spot. The European backcountry footage is gorgeous, with amazing cinematography. Drake Warner Finnishes things off with a wrestling match on one of the most rowdy kink rails ever. Not to spoil it, but at one point, the rail taps out, and needs reviving.

Max Lyons, former team rider turned social media handler, turned photographer also had photographs on display, and was selling his book “fortune”, which is a retrospective on his whole season chasing the Rome team around the snowboarding world.

Speaking of Rome and Particle and books, you can check out a feature on Particle in our newest issue, coming out this week.

The snow that fell earlier in the week still blanked nearby Mount Mansfield, the home of Stowe, and with Burlington being a snowboarding hub, the Wallflower Collective was at capacity with all manner of shred folk, chomping at the bit to get the season going.

Nothing beats the energy of video premiere season…
