Party on the mountain: The 10 Barrel Brewing Hella Big Air at Mt. Bachelor
Good beer, big air, and questionable attire choices.

When a beer company puts on a big air contest, it is to be expected that you’ll be having some suds. However, when a company like 10 Barrel is behind the event, you are going to be challenged to love beer as much as them… A challenge I gladly took. Beer in hand from start to finish while covering the Hella Big Air at Mt. Bachelor just outside of Bend, Oregon, I am sharing a pint’s eye glimpse at the beer drinking culture of snowboard events. This time, the beers just happened to be hella tasty.

A bear with no beer is unbearable. See what I did there?Pouring one out for the homies about to hit this. Obviously, no excuses, but speed was undeniably an issue all day. They were starting ten lift towers uphill in a full grey-bird tuck, and among other things still had to hope they didn’t get hit with an uphill draft or a slow patch of fresh snow.Judges booth, AKA the Fridge. Worth noting for all future events; Whenever I found myself empty handed, the Judge’s Fridge had me reliably covered with cold beers.This is not for everyone, but attire can be a critically strategic move for the outdoor beer garden. Reason being, this sweater (or a fucking bear costume) are surely going to earn you some free beers.Lead by Brew Master Jimmy Seifrit (on the right), these three of seven 10 Barrel brewers proved they would never skip a party.It was a one handed sort of assignment.
