It's no secret Luke Mitrani tears up the halfpipe. Each year he progresses more and adds new tricks to his very large bag. Last year, he won the Winter Dew Tour receiving the most points in Winter Dew Tour history. It’s no wonder why he rides for Volcom, a company with some of the sickest designs out there.
Luke rides his exclusive Volcom board, which, as you already know, isn’t being sold just yet. He prefers a 154 for the park and a 157 for backcountry. His Volcom outerwear pieces include the Landvic TDS Gore-Tex jacket in black and orange, and the Landvic TDS Gore-Tex pants, both of which have Zip Tech® so that they can zip shut to eachother, confirming that no snow or moisture get in between. “I love Volcom jackets because of the built in face mask option. Sometimes on cold days I’ll forget my gator, but luckily my jacket has by back, aka my neck,” adds Luke. Additionally, he wears Volcom Gigi Ruf Insulated Gore-Tex mittens which have a sick Stay-Dry Leather Shell and his Volcom Pistol Beanie to stop heat from escaping through his head on those cold practice days.
For maximum control when going big, say while he throws his Double Michalchuk (double backflip 540), he rocks the Burton Cartel bindings paired with Burton SLX boots. Says Luke, “I’ve always skated with tight shoes and I relate this to snowboarding by adjusting my bindings to keep my feet extra snug.”
Luke is also very fond of his Dragon Rogue goggles and his Volcom Creeper Suit to which he comments, “It’s a full piece underlayer that is guaranteed to get the babes.” Clearly, the suit has multiple purposes, warmth and attractiveness.
We wouldn’t want to forget the Frends headphones that Luke likes to rave about. “We have a new headphone called ‘The Light.’ You can customize everything on the headphone from changing the head strap, ear cups and the chord colors. You can also just click the ear cup to pause or change songs.” Overall, Luke has one pretty sweet setup.
