Premiere season is in full swing in Utah. We headed to Salt Lake City this past Friday for a first look at Ride’s new movie, Rated R, alongside a sold-out crowd at the 6Six9 venue right downtown. Complete with a tattoo station, countless TVs, and the whole Ride team rolling into SLC for the event, we’d say the launch of their premiere tour started off with a bang.

Leading up to the show, Salt Lake was pretty busy. A comic convention was going on just a few blocks away with thousands in costume flooding the grid. A Ride Snowboards engineer had his bag taken from the venue while they were setting up, complete with a passport and maybe some secrets of the trade. If you were waiting for boards and boots from 2026 to get leaked, then you have Mason Lemry and a few other to thank for keeping everything safe after they tracked down the bandit and retrieved the stolen goods. Oh, and The Bomb Hole gave the team the celebrity treatment with a ride in the stretch limo donning the podcast’s moniker, AKA SOFTLOG.

But back to the movie. Filmed by Jake Durham and Jon Stark, and edited by Durham, Rated R is one big highlight reel. A two-year project that is well worth the wait. Reid Smith put together a part that might have gotten the most hoots and hollers of the night. Jill Perkins went big, went creative, and did it all with style. Danimals hit a spot that I personally saw in Finland and haven’t stopped thinking about since. Spencer Schubert showed his passion for fast food and Krugs landed on another chainlink fence in a way that would retire many riders for good. Jed Anderson has an NBD in MN, Savannah Shinske proved why she is on the big-screen team for Ride, and Cole Navin continues to be one of the best riders to ever do it. As far as surprises, Mike Bogs didn’t know if he was going to get any clips in the movie, and he ended up getting his own section with his name and all. The only disappointment that was felt in the crowd was when it ended (and it isn’t a short movie).

There is plenty more to report on, but there are still plenty more stops to check it out for yourself before we spoil it. Denver and Minneapolis are coming up and something tells us a few more spots might be added to the tour. Keep an eye out for the whole thing whenever and wherever it drops, because you are definitely not going to want to miss this one. It will be in talks for Movie of the Year for sure. Big thanks to T.
