The 2016 4-Star Taos Freeride Championships presented by Salomon went down this past weekend at Taos Ski Valley. From Thursday, March 3 through Saturday, March 5, the event showcased big-mountain snowboarding action from a list of up and comers looking to shine in the big-mountain spotlight. Riders enjoyed sunny skies for a bit but had to battle an oncoming storm and fresh snow (rough we know) as they navigated the ragged chutes and cliffs of Taos’ West Basin and Kachina Peak.
In the end Robyn Borneman and Zachary Bare took first place for the women’s and men’s 4-star competition, respectively. If you missed any of the action, scope out the recap video.
Congratulations to each of the athletes on putting down some insane runs this weekend.
