For the sixth consecutive year, the ski event Stadium Winter Jam, at the Stockholm Stadion arena, presents the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup and the freestyle skiing competition, King of Style. On Saturday November 19th the world elite in snowboarding and freestyle skiing will arrive to Stockholm. This year, they will compete in the highest city ramp for a Big Air world cup at 35 meters.
Once again it is time for Sweden to welcome snowboarders and ski fans from all over the globe to the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup, attracting the world's best in snowboarding to Stockholm. The competition in Big Air is the second World Cup event of a total of four for the season 2011/2012. And this year, the competition will take place at a starting height of 35 meters. The father of the ramp is one of the world's top shapers and park designers, David Ny, who will also design the half pipe during the Winter Olympics in Russia 2014.
“We have elevated its inception five meters to the world's highest city ramp for world cups. This is to get as close to natural conditions in a snow park as possible. Last year, we had over 26,000 visitors from all over the world and those visiting Stadion in Stockholm on the 19th of November, we promise they will experience the best in snowboarding and freestyle skiing, and enjoy an outstanding show in FMX this year accompanied by live music. And anyone who bring their skis can try the rails and jib in our snow park”, says Ulf Mård, project manager for the Stadium Winter Jam 2011.
