The Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows stop of The Subaru Freeride Series has been rescheduled, and will now take place March 27-30, 2014. The event will include both 4-star and 2-star Freeride World Qualifiers, as well as junior competitions.

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (March 7, 2014)- The Subaru Freeride Series presented by the Subaru Winter Fest at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows previously scheduled in February has been rescheduled to March 27-30, 2014. The event will include 4-star and 2-star Freeride World Qualifiers (FWQ), and junior competitions for both skiers and snowboarders. Fans are encouraged to join the event onsite or online. The adult 4-star finals, Sat. March 29, will be webcast live on subarufreerideseries.com.
“February brought a lot of snow to Tahoe and Squaw Valley. We look forward to hosting a prime competition there in March,” said Bryan Barlow SFS event director. “As we draw near the end of the 2014 FWQ season, the stakes are incredibly high for athletes hoping to advance to the 2015 Freeride World Tour.”
The Subaru Freeride Series event will take place as part of the Subaru Winter Fest, March 29-30 at Squaw Valley. The Subaru Winter Fest is a weekend event focused on educating snow enthusiasts of all abilities about the sport and evolution of freeride through unique exhibits and activities.
The series will provide athletes the opportunity to earn valuable Freeride World Qualifier points in pursuit of advancing to the 2015 Freeride World Tour. In addition to podium awards, one skier and snowboarder at each event will be selected as the recipients of the Backcountry.com Sick Bird award.
