arob_slate.pngAaron, always smiling – Tailgate Alaska 2009

July 19 was a sad day as the snowboard world found out it had lost one of its own. Aaron Robinson aka “A Rob” had passed away while riding in the backcountry near El Colorado in Chile.

We mourn a man whose career was cut short doing what he loved most, snowboarding. Winning the young gun award as well as taking two North Face Masters of Snowboarding titles shows us just how well rounded of a rider Aaron was. His passion for snowboarding never went unnoticed as he always rocked the biggest smile and enjoyed every day of it.

The hearts of everyone here at Snowboard go out to Jason and the Robinson family. We lost a good one. He will never be forgotten. RIP

Mark Sullivan shot this video over to us from Tailgate Alaska back in 2009. If you knew Aaron or not, this video gives you a good glimpse at just how awesome he was as well as his passion for the sport.

From Tailgate Alaska: Aaron Robinson drove to Valdez in his 1989 Chevy Blazer with his 2008 Ski Doo in tow. Check out his explorations in the spectacular powder in the Chugach range.
