Earlier this year, SNOWBOARD Mag partnered up with Sailor Jerry Rum to work with one pro shred for a tattoo session. We chose the one and only Trouble Andrew and Trevor got ink’d up in NYC with famed tattoo artist Scott Campbell. We got a few words from Trouble regarding his love for snowboarding, his music and roots in Nova Scotia.What made you want to get a Sailor Jerry tattoo? He’s from Nova Scotia like myself and was a leader in style. I admire that. What tattoos did you decide to get & why? I got the anchor on my finger that has my initials and my fiance’s too. She holds me down, in a good way! I also got a banner that says “Bluenoser” on my right arm over the bluenose schooner that is featured on the Canadian dime. I got that tat a few weeks earlier in Halifax cause I’m a dime piece yo!!!

What is the story behind “Bluenoser” that you got tattooed on Sailor Jerry script? Cause that’s where I’m from! I’m a proud Nova Scotian and Bluenoser was an old name used for the Scotia boys out at sea. They all wore pea coats and would come home with bluenoses from wiping there noses on thier jackets in the rain. Well, that’s what my pops told me at least! hehe! The bluenose was a bad ass ship that never lost a race until it hit a rock and sunk. What made you choose Scott Campbell as the tattoo artists? Cause he’s one of the raddest dudes ever! Scott is ill with a needle. He’s done most of my work over the past few years and I totally trust him to kill it every time! Ask anyone who ever got a piece from him and they’ll tell you the same. Can’t wait to get back to his spot in Brooklyn and get more. When did you first hear about Sailor Jerry (or is there any other “first time” type story that would be relevant here?) I’ve been hearing his name for years, Sailor Jerry is a legend! When did you first taste the rum & what was the experience? I had it for the first time at Winter X-Games’ Sailor Jerry party! I love it for real and I normally don’t like rum! Send me some cases of that! I’m down to my last bottle, you promised me! 🙂 What do you like about the rum and how do you drink it? I keep it o.g. and drink it straight out of the bottle like a true sailor! Sailor Jerry Rum has been a sponsor of the X-Games Athlete Kick-Off party that you hosted and also your Album Release Party. Any good stories or feedback from those events? X-Games is always crazy! It was nice to reconnect with a bunch of shreds I hadn’t seen in a while. Riding was fun and the parties are always o.c. What are some of your favorite bars and venues to perform at? Joes Pub in NYC, Viper Room…any place. I will get up on the bar and kick some glasses over and go in! I love to perform wherever I can. What’s your best Snowboarding memory or story? Any pow day with no cameras, just the homies, laughing and screaming through the trees! What’s your best band/performance memory or story? We were just on tour with Santigold and Amanda Blank. That whole tour was amazing, dope venues, dope crowds and the best two bands to tour with. It was the love tour man!
