It is no small feat to produce a snowboarding film. To those who have, you know the vision required from the initial concept, the actual filming, then piecing everything together during the long and tedious editing process. The Whistler Blackcomb Coldfront Online Film Festival is a competition to discover who has that vision to orchestrate a stunning cinematography experience but it is not decided before a panel of judges; you get to determine who takes home the coveted $10,000 purse.

But the filmmakers are not the only winning parties. Just for placing a vote in Coldfront, you are immediately put in the running to win “Gear for a Year.” So what does that mean? It means getting fully kitted with board, boots, bindings, GORE-TEX® outwear from Arc’teryx, a GoPro setup, Icebreaker Merino wool base layers, a gift card worth 500 big ones, a Whistler Blackcomb season pass and bragging rights that you got to take home over $5000 in spoils.

There are six teams competing for the Coldfront title, each from different walks of life and influences. From Canada, to Australia, to Japan, their roots have brought them together in Whistler Blackcomb for a chance of film glory. Over a span of four weeks you have the opportunity to move the needle in favor of the production you deem worthy of the ultimate prize.

Voting begins September 29th on the official Whistler Blackcomb Coldfront website. Get stoked.

Below you will find the brief biographies of each contender in the Coldfront competition, the trailer, and bracket breakdown.
