We normally don’t watch movies with both skiing and snowboarding in them, but most of those movies aren’t this good. A project based on the thread of recycled jackets offering a new shelter to the women of the Arc’Teryx snow team. Elena Hight, Spencer O’Brien, and Robin Van Gyn join their skiing counterparts in Tahoe, BC, and beyond. (And by beyond we mean some absolutely breathtaking lines in Alaska.) While we aren’t sure if the tent has any soles in it, this project definitely has soul. Apologies for the pun. Some insane riding mixed in with a practical message reminding us that we should be giving our winter gear’s second life another thought. Enjoy.
Arc’Teryx:
From rubbish to resource, a tent was assembled from 137 unrepairable jackets. The kaleidoscope of colour is a creation from material well used and deserving of more life. Exploring the possibilities of circularity, Michelle Parker, Elena Hight, Spencer O’Brien, Lucy Sackbauer, Robin Van Gyn, and Tatum Monod take the tent on a winter journey in its new form, creating their own memories and moments with its walls.
